Impulse Voltage/current Measuring Software Based on LabVIEW
Since the calculation accuracy of impulse voltage measuring software directly affects the measurement capability of impulse voltage measuring system, the paper introduces the development of calculation method to lightning impulse wave with overshoot and/or oscillation in IEC standard, also briefly describes the basic functions and solutions to key problems in programming progress of self-developed impulse software which is verified the calculation accuracy by using Test Data Generator(TDG) in IEC standard 61083-2. According to the calculated results of self-developed software on 29 typical waveforms of lightning impulse, for 4 parameters: peak value Up, front time T1, time to half-value T2, overshoot magnitude β, the maximum deviation between calculated value and standard value is about -0.07%, 1.5%, -0.17%, and 1.0% respectively which are all smaller than the maximum errors provided in standard. In addition, according to the calculated results on typical waveforms of chopped lightning impulse (LIC), impulse current(IC), and Switching impulse wave(SI), the software can be used to calculate variety of waveforms of impulse voltage/current. For the comparison the main measurement parameters of self-developed software with the software developed by manufacturer A, the results show the software A basically meet the requirements of IEC standard except few great deviations of calculation on overshoot, which proves that our measuring software has reached the advanced level in the data calculation of the impulse waveform.
