In view of contradiction between rapidity and stationarity existed in dynamic regulation process of conventional PID voltage regulator of SVC, a voltage control scheme of SVC based on neuron variable structural PID is proposed. In this control scheme, the first neuron controller is used to achieve variable structural PID control, and the second neuron controller is used to tune the parameters of PID controller. The simulation results demonstrate that the control scheme can effectively increase response speed of control system, and achieve the flexible voltage regulation function of SVC to maintain the stability of voltage in power system. In addition, the SVC control system has the better static and dynamic performance.
