This paper used the electromagnetic transient simulation software PSCAD, setting up the typical 500 kV modeling with double circuit transmission line tower. Through the FAULT element in PSCAD setting relatedSparameter, simulate theSSecondary Arc Current and Recovery VoltageSof endSline in short circuit fault, which provides a basis for theScorrelationSparameter to set toSreclosing timeSandSrelay protection setting of reclosingSdevice. And further analysis the effect of reactance compensation,Sfault location andSsoil resistivity to the 500kV Double CircuitSLine. The Model of 500 kV system has significant significance of design, safe and reliable operation of double circuit transmission line tower.
