A novel simplified algorithm, which avoids the need of the sector judgment and look-up table, is adopted for the double-ended cascaded three-level inverter in this paper. This algorithm is capable to quickly obtain the trigger pulses of switches according to the three-phase instantaneous phase voltages. To solve the zero-sequence circulation problem inherently existed in the double-ended cascaded three-level inverter, which employs the topology structure of common DC link, we adjust the time allocation of redundant zero vectors to achieve the mean elimination of zero-sequence voltage. Very simple measure, which is namely to select an appropriate time offset, is took to suppress the zero-sequence voltage. The experimental platform is built and the simplified algorithm is experimentally verified.
