Frequency Regulation Strategy of DFIG in Microgrid System Based on Subsection Control
In order to utilize the potential of DFIGs’ frequency regulation capability in microgrid, this paper presents a frequency control strategy to coordinate inertia control, overspeed control and pitch control. Depending on the DFIGs’ operation characteristics and wind speed, DFIGs keep out of frequency regulation during low wind speed. Overspeed control is combined with pitch control during medium wind speed. Pitch control is employed for high wind speed. The control strategy balances effectiveness with economic efficiency. The simulation results to establish the effectiveness of the approach.
