Impacts of Battery Storage Strategy on Power System Well-being Indices andWind Power Accommodation
This paper presents an orderly discharging battery storage strategy. Taking the uncertainty of wind power, wake effect and the failure rate of energy storage system into account, this paper analyzes Well-being indices of generation system containing wind farm and battery energy storage system. Cases show that the proposed strategy is capable of increasing wind power accommodation and improving Well-being indices of generation system when wind power exceeds the penetration limit and at the same time generation system is short of power after absorbing obtainable wind power. Moreover, this paper studies the impacts of storage system capacity, charging and discharging power of BESS and wind power penetration on Well-being indices of generation power system.
