Location of Oscillation Center Using Wide Area Measurement System and Its Application
A new method of locating the oscillation center using the wide area measurement system is proposed in this paper, which aimed at the problem of oscillation center positioning of the system whose amplitude of the potential is not equal and the whole system impedance is not uniform. When the system failure, the Ucosφ criterion is exploited to judge whether the system begin to oscillate. The wide-area measurement system is used to obtain the global real-time information of the grid, the oscillation center is determined according to the angle among the potential vector, the bus voltage vector and their difference vector. Then the oscillation center voltage is calculated using the geometry of the system voltage distribution. Combined with the system coherent generators and power imbalance, the business processes of splitting control is elaborated. The actual example shows that the method can track the migration of the oscillation center and provide the accurate position of the oscillation center.
