When the plan for smart meters’ verification is made, the attention is mainly paid to the equality between monthly supply and demand, which likely cause serious imbalance in the verification workload of different months and brings obstacles to the verification work and personnel arrangement. To address this issue, an optimization method for smart meters’ verification arrangement is proposed in this paper with temporary storage of smart meters in the secondary warehouses taken in to account. With balancing the verification workload in different months set as the overall goal, the objective function and constraints for the optimization problem are established based on the relationships between the supply quantity, demand quantity and inventory quantity. Then Sequential Quadratic Programming is used to solve this problem and a arrangement with monthly verification workload balanced is obtained. Finally, the proposed method is adopted to optimize the verification plan, verifying its validity.
