In the process of daily use of smart meter, the information of display screen area shows the error of digital symbol information display, and the display of text and symbol information is incomplete. Based on machine vision technology, the integrity of character information displayed on the smart meter display screen is detected by Halcon software. Firstly, the image of the smart meter display area is extracted. After the extracted display area image is histogram equalized, the edge detection is utilized to remove the meaningless small target in the target area. The combination of the open operation and the closed operation of morphology performs character information segmentation on the smart meter display screen, and then, detects the character information of the smart meter display area, and adopts block processing identification according to different types of display area information. The detection results are matched with the information in the industrial database, and the information missing area is marked. The feasibility of the detection method of the missing information of the smart meter display screen is verified by experimental analysis.
