This paper analyzes the high-altitude landscape tower lightning withstand performance of the Ali interconnection project, to provide a reliable basis for the development of specific lightning performance enhancement measures for high-altitude landscape tower. The lightning current wave model, the transmission line model, the landscape tower multi-wave impedance model, and the insulator string pilot development flashover model are established respectively. Based on the simulation calculation in ATP-EMTP, the effects of altitude, tower grounding resistance, tower height and arrester setting on the lightning withstand level of landscape towers are analyzed, and the shielding lightning protection performance of the landscape tower is studied, and it is compared with the lightning withstand performance of typical wine glass tower. Based on these works, the specific measures to improve the lightning withstand levels of landscape towers are advised. This paper provides a reference for the design of lightning protection scheme for landscape towers in high altitude areas.
