In view of the low level of lightning resistance of distribution network lines, which is easy to break the lightning conductor and trip the circuit breaker, a multi break arc extinguishing and lightning protection device with active arc extinguishing function is developed based on the idea of "gas arc blowing". The device can control the arc movement track, force the arc to be cut off at multiple points by using its special spatial multi fracture structure, and generate high-speed airflow at the fracture to restrain the initial development stage of power frequency arc transient, and extinguish it at the "embryonic stage" of the arc. In this paper, firstly, the structure and principle of multi fracture arc extinguishing and lightning protection device are analyzed; secondly, COMSOL is used Multiphysics simulation software makes quantitative analysis on the process of air flow generation and arc extinction; then, according to the relevant provisions of IEC, a test platform combining impulse flashover test and power frequency continuous current test is built, and the power frequency continuous current interruption test is carried out, and the test results show that the device can make the amplitude of 1 to 2 ms Finally, according to the actual operation data, the lightning protection effect of the device is analyzed. The operation data shows that the device has been successfully operated for many times, which can greatly reduce the trip rate and accident rate of the line.
