Fast adjustable arc suppression coil based on power electronic switch
The power distribution system of an oil field in Iraq uses resistance grounding. Due to the harsh environment of the branch power grid, the aging of some facilities, and frequent grounding faults, the reliability of the oil field equipment power supply has dropped sharply. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a technical solution for the grounding of the arc suppression coil. The solution is based on the traditional turn-adjustable arc suppression coil technology. The mechanical load switch is replaced by a power electronic switch to overcome the problems of poor dynamic response and delayed compensation of original on-load mechanical switches while retaining the economical and reliable characteristics of traditional turn-adjusting arc suppression coils. Multi-condition MATLAB simulation verification and physical experiments prove that this technical solution is economical, feasible and effective, and can implement the technical transformation of the power distribution system.
