Programmable quantum voltage standard (PJVS) is a quantum voltage standard that generates AC waveforms quickly and accurately. This article summarizes the research progress of programmable quantum voltages. Firstly, the basic principle and the error source of programmable quantum voltage are introduced. Secondly, the development of programmable quantum voltage chips is reviewed, and the development and changes of the low-temperature superconducting Josephson junction barrier layer, the characteristics of quantum voltage chips, and the development of programmable quantum voltage chips at home and abroad are briefly summarized. Finally, for the main applications of programmable quantum voltage standards, the measurement structures, indicators and application scenarios of quantum voltmeters, impedance bridge devices and quantum current are summarized.
