In connection with the phenomenon of packet loss packet error and packet transfer delay in the energy metering process According to IEC 61850 protocol. this paper introduced a judgment method for packet loss packet error and packet transfer delay which based on interpolation algorithm . We analyzed how it caused, then in order to have a accurate awareness of it,we calculated the error rate it bround. this paper proposed to use interpolation algorithm to calculate energy metering error caused by packet loss packet error and packet transfer delay, the result was used to judge the status of data transmission network. Alert and event record should be generated when the error rate was high. The simulation by matlab showed that interpolation algorithm can accurately calculate the energy metering error and provide the basis for packet loss packet error and packet transfer delay in the energy metering process.
