For the role of software in the smart meter is more important, whose quality has become key factor that affects meter product quality, software testing is the most effective measure to ensure software quality, so the test technology should be introduced and be paid enough attention.This paper analyzed the current software testing situation and characteristics of the smart meter, introduced the basic process of software testing, test methods and technology, combined with the smart meter status, the critical test strategies were studied. Finally, put forward some reasonable suggestiones for implementing software testing in the watt-hour meter industry.
