For reconfiguration of distribution network under normal operating conditions, a novel method is proposed which is based on optimization algorithm simulating the fisher fishing (SFOA). The minimization of active power loss is used as the objective function, a mathematical model of distribution network reconfiguration is established, and then adopted SFOA which encodes easily, strong ability to obtain the optimal distribution network. According to the characteristics of the distribution network, a coding strategies based mesh switch is applied, simplified the moving search and shrinking search without departing from the search algorithm itself to achieve a global search for the solution space. Finally, used Visual C for the IEEE-33 node examples reconfiguration, result shows that the proposed method is feasible and effective.
