Recently, the PMU equipment using as an important department of wide-area measurement system has been widely used, with rapidly development of intelligence transformer substation, traditional PMU testing method could not meet the requirement of intelligence station PMU equipment testing. Introducing the operate mode of intelligence station PMU equipment, pointing at requirement of function testing, exploit PMU testing machine based on IEC1850,and introduce the design ideas of testing machine’s software. Using closed-loop system composed by this testing machine, can realize intelligence station PMU equipment proceed the functions of calibration, functional tests,statute tests etc, providing a realization method of PMU equipment functional testing.
