Information technology promotes the development of power information construction, electric energy meter for simple energy metering function is not suitable for the modern society. Smart electric energy meter based on the advanced data processing technique can store data information、monitor electricity usage in real time and transfer a variety of data. This is the needs of our country grid intelligence and network construction, but also the development direction of future grid . How to ensure data communication security of smart electric energy meter and the interests of the users and power grid corps is one of the most important problems and urgent problems in electric utility industry. This paper introduces the structure and function of smart electric energy meter and puts forward to some improving smart meter security strategy through the analysis of smart electric meter information security.
