With the extensive application of power electronics and power line carrier communication, growing number of supraharmonics emerge in the low voltage side. The problem of supraharmonics relates to several fields, and it has received enough attention by distribution grid power quality, power line carrier communication, load detection and other researches. This paper summarizes the domestic and foreign research findings of supraharmonics, such as sources, characteristics, damages, standards, measuring methods. The application value of supraharmonics in the power load monitoring is summarized. This study presents some conclusions and recommendations, in response to the supraharmonics problems for reference.
