The traditional Z-source topology has some problems such as limited boost capacity, high voltage stress of capacitor and high starting current of inductor, this paper presents a new topology of quasi-Z-Source three-level inverter. Compared with two inductors and capacitors in the traditional Z-source network, the new topology is symmetrical and consists of four inductors, four capacitors and two conduction diodes. Meanwhile, the new topology can significantly reduce the inductor start-up current and capacitor voltage without changing the boost capacity. Finally, the effectiveness of a new quasi-Z source three-level inverter topology is verified by simulation and experiments.
