A flexible dual-band antenna based on liquid crystal polymer substrate was designed, the proposed antenna consists of a circular patch with a U-shaped narrow slot, the double band characteristics can be achieved by adjusting the position and the size of the U-shaped slot. The feed line of the antenna adopts gradation structure to improve the impedance matching characteristics. Coplanar waveguide is applied to the antenna, which has good coplanarity and is easy to conform to the carrier. The measured results show that the bandwidth of the antenna is 1.57-5.52GHz and 6.13-9.97GHz while the return loss is less than -10dB, which is suitable for WLAN/Wi-MAX/5G/satellite communication system. Due to the flexible characteristics of the flexible material, the bending performance of the antenna is analyzed, the results show that the characteristics of the antenna under bending state are almost unaffected, which satisfies the practical engineering application.
