In view of the problems of single coverage, unsuitable for network and systematic analysis in current power grid fault analysis, this paper studies the phase quantization compression technology of fault recorders data under the premise of popularization of PMU and fault recorder. It converts fault-recorded data into wide-area measurement system data, enabling full coverage of high-density measurement data sources.Firstly, the algorithm structure commonly used in phase quantization algorithm is studied. Then, the vectorization compression algorithm flow is proposed, and the amplitude, phase, frequency and frequency change rate of the fault signal are calculated, which greatly reduces the amount. Finally, the phasor compression calculation results of five typical cases of frequency offset, coupled harmonics, amplitude abrupt change, phase abrupt change and frequency ramp change are analyzed by simulation. The results show that the compression algorithm can effectively reduce the amount of data redundancy and fully meet the requirements of high-density measurement data analysis.
