Electricity energy meter with virtual machine technology can realize software application(APP) separate with hardware platform. No matter what core structure of chip we choose, we can use the same APP. In order to make sure the meter works well, some test methods must be proposed. Research on test methods of electricity energy meter with virtual machine, can be used to do the test for meter with virtual machine. Based on the characters of meter with virtual machine, the test methods are divided into three parts: platform test, APP test, function test of meter with virtual machine. Propose different test benches for different parts based on their differences. Develop PC software to do the test for prototype meter. The propose of test methods for meter with virtual machine can make the meter operates stability, safety, reliability.
