In view of the difficulty of monitoring the current state of switchgear contacts, this paper designed a ZigBee-based switchgear contact safety watchband wireless monitoring system. Firstly, based on the working environment of the switchgear contacts and the requirements for monitoring the working parameters, an overall monitoring system plan was designed. Then, according to the monitoring plan, each hardware part of the system was designed with circuits and equipment selection. Secondly, the software design of the system acquisition terminal was completed to realize the functions of data acquisition and wireless transmission, and wireless communication with the coordinator device. Finally, the smoke experiment verified that the communication and measurement of the designed system were accurate. The monitoring system is powered by lithium battery and installed with watchband. The designed monitoring system can measure the current, voltage, temperature, smoke and other operating parameters of switchgear contacts in real time, and predict safety faults such as overcurrent, overload, short circuit, and fire.
