Under condition of non-severe fault, the depth of voltage dip is not very large. With the application of low-voltage ride-through scheme based on improved control strategy, the rotor windings of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) are still excited by the AC/DC/AC converter. Hence, the fault current characteristics of DFIG under condition of non-severe fault are decided by the response of the AC/DC/AC converter with low-voltage ride-through control strategy. Aimed at it, the dynamic response characteristics of rotor-side converter (RSC) with low-voltage ride-through control strategy are analyzed, and the generalized calculation model of the rotor fault current is obtained. Based on it, the stator fault current characteristics of DFIG in condition of non-severe fault are studied. Meanwhile, the unified analytical expressions of the stator fault current are established. Finally, simulation examples in PSCAD/EMTDC demonstrate the theoretical analysis results.
