The Time-of-use Price (TOU) responds well to the market, which can guide customers to consume electricity in a certain period of time and thus achieving peak load shifting and increasing the efficiency of electricity utilization. Combined with intelligent power demand response (DR) technology, the household loads priority (HLP) control system can effectively improve the responsiveness of user side grid. Firstly, the modeling of household appliances is conducted based on their load characteristics; secondly, a household loads priority (HLP) control algorithm is proposed to make customers feel comfortable. The algorithm performs load control decisions according to priority order and guarantees that the total household power consumption is kept below peak-power limitation; Finally, a sample simulation is carried out to compare the way each load operates under different power limitation, and the effectiveness of HLP control scheme is verified by combining the TOU theory.
