Virtual Synchronous Generator (VSG) control technology can improve the grid-friendliness of distributed power supplies. However, as the grid voltage drops, the traditional VSG control will cause the current output of the inverter to be too large. Therefore, a VSG current suppression control method is proposed. Firstly, the detection and improvement of the voltage sag of the power grid are analyzed and improved. On this basis, the reference voltage calculated by the VSG is used to calculate the reference current, so that the VSG can realize the output current amplitude suppression of the inverter under various voltage sag conditions. The method has a simple structure and can realize current control under different fault conditions. The simulation results verify the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed control method.
